I've been holding off on buying the 22SCT to see if they release a 2.0 version. I haven't seen any news on it, but a few of the big online shops had them on sale like they do sometimes to make way for the new version.

Am I just holding my breath for nothing? Seems like whenever I buy something the "new and improved" version gets released a week later.

Default 22.2 Axle spacer on FR's Set Up

When using the 22.2 axle there is a spacer that should be used on the axle before assembling to the hub, otherwise the axle has slop. I think I read in here somewhere that Frank said not to use it. If you use the 22.2 axle with shim it's the same as the 22sct axle. So why the need for 22.2 axles?

Frank Root advised the thread NOT to hold our breath for a 2.0 anytime soon.....posted about 1 month or so ago...

Go for it...never a better deal than you have access to now....

Shoot, the one time I wait to buy something... used to be $219 special on Amain, now it's back up to $259

Well, flying season is coming up anyway and running/cleaning/maintaining my 1/8 buggy keeps me plenty busy as it is. Gonna wait to see if another sale comes up now.

Ok so has anyone tried just changing the rear to the new 2014 Franks setup without changing the front? If so did it help with rear traction? My truck turns great and I have aluminum spindles and really don't want to change the front parts. But I'm wondering if they go hand in hand and if you don't change the front doing the rear will not benefit in any way. Can anyone contest to this? Also does anyone now if Frank left the 1mm shim to raise the tranny in when doing this 2014 upgrade to the rear?

Does anyone know what size turnbuckles Frank switched to accommodate for the 22T bones and arms?

See Randy Pikes comments on page 633 he hasn't changed the front end and likes it. I'm like you I want to keep my aluminum front end.

Frank, if you didn't want to go with the full on upgrade stated in your 2014 setup, would just the arms/driveshafts/hubs/spindles/castor upgrades be worth using or don't do it at all if you don't go all the way.

Thanks.

I haven't run anything other than the 2.0 front end on this truck, but based off what I learned from the buggy, you definitely want to update. The trucks already have that 'I wanna tip over and spin' feel. The 1.0 front end makes them dump even more onto the outside rear tire.

ok, cant get some help on what page to look for the necessary upgrade parts needed for the truck? I just bought the kit and will be running it in the stock outdoor class for the summer. I would like to only build it once for now. I've seen and talked to people about putting the 22t front in instead of the standard one. Is there any full replacement kit # for that or is there a list on here with all the part numbers? I didn't notice any on the first page.
Thanks in advance.

Since it's 22T arms, I'd assume they're the matching 22T turnbuckles:

I'm just using the stock ones. Haven't driven it yet but seams ridged enough.

I'm pretty sure frank said he was using the longest ones from the sct which are the 70mm ones.
