BTW. I recently bought some new idlers. Back of the package said "rev. 1". Undated part? Hopefully!

Hey guys, I've searched and looked through quite a few pages, so don't hammer me too hard. But I've read casper and a few other mentioning using the 14g tlr weights on top of the tranny, and was just wondering exactly where they were mounted. Any help would be appreciated.

The weights have 2 holes and you remove the two bolts ontop of tranny directly behind the shock tower - motor wires most likely are hiding the two screws

I thought that was probably where they went. Just didn't look like they would sit very well on there like on the 22.

I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong that's causing the idler gear to strip, I've had it strip out 4 times now, I've run both ball & gear diff with the same end result..so I'm under the impression that its the slipper settings that are putting a load on the idler gear..I don't have the slipper locked up, it does slip a bit, I have not had a problem with my other SC's (Durango & Kyosho SC-R)..the track I'm running on is a hi-traction clay track so that could have something to do with it..am I doing something wrong? Help..

I don't know. What is going on. I know TLR is aware of this though.

They screw on the back. Take out the rear two middle screws on top of the tranny and it hangs off the back.

have you tried a new transmission case? that seems to me to be something of easy fault. and it should be relatively straight forward to swap out.
Those teeth need to be in perfect contact for them to be efficient.
also do you run any lube in there? i used to use some black grease on the gears, but apparently thats bad, because i pulled apart my diff and all this black crap was in it. a few guys at my track said they run their trannies dry, but i dont understand that much, so i use a small amount of 20wt. shock fluid on the gears.

Do they prevent the body from cracking?

Having a problem with rear traction. The back end steps out on corner entry very abruptly. Running the kit setup with white sway bars front and rear, full pack all the way forward. I tried moving the rear shocks in on the tower and out on the arms and moving the battery back a little and it was slightly better but still had a really hard time putting power down. Im trying to get the back end locked in more. Things I was thinking of trying next time out are stiffer rear sway bar and thicker rear oil. Am I going in the right direction? Thanks
