So I finally ran across the ball cup issues during yesterdays races. This was the first time I had ran the truck on a large outdoor track built for an 1/8th scale. I must say that I was very disapointed not being able to finish but one of my qualifers without a ballcup coming off and only one of the two mains.
I will be looking for captured ends or some other form of fix for sure. Are the turnbuckles off the XXX-SCT the same length as the 22SCT's?

Im ticked off the truck is awsome but Im eating up idler gears like there going out of style. Slipper is looser than Id like and forget tighting it down only will last a pack before it lets loose. And cant see how people are using avid tri slipper. Im at the point of jumping ship.Ive ran the gears dry if tried a little grease.

Also for the servo I am using is a Savox SC-1258TG will this work also?
I use the same servo and it works great... a little noisy though. Other than that, no issues with the 1258TG.

Good luck!

you may need/want either a RX capacitor or an external BEC. the savox servo's need at least 3 amps to function without any glitching, and the castle Sidewinder series of ESC's BEC is only 2 amps.
i have ran a cap at one time and then an ext. bec.
both do the same thing, but i prefer the bec because it eliminates the problem completely (bypasses the esc's internal BEC). while the cap can solve the problem too, it only masks the problem.
I found the ext bec to better because it lowered my esc temps about 5-10 deg. F. and the sidewinder series tend to run relatively hot.

Do not jump ship! Call Horizon about this. They sent me a complete replacement transmission minus the out drives. Shortly after I blew up another idler gear. So far I have gone through 5 or 6. I TQed today in Columbus, OH with Losi drivers there so I am not a basher. After blowing up 6 I just replaced all the bearings in the transmission. So far so good. So if you talk with Horizon tell them to send bearings also or for 10 bucks or so you get some good ones at the hobby store. I am running an Orion 6.5 in mine also. My slipper is set to only slip for about 1 meter at the most from dead stop. I will keep you posted on how she holds up.
