the price is the only downfall for the orion r10 to me. But it s totally worth it. And like scott said, if you are on a budget you can always get the hobbywing version.

Got in some good track time for the first time today. Track was moist from overnight very light rain. Was runing AKA enduro's. Truck was really hooked up, jumped great, handled the rough straights well. I think I am convenced that this is the 2wd truck to run. Now I can make my SC10 2wd into a oval car full time.

I get mine Tuesday. I'll be racing outdoor on-road and indoors off-road. The off-road track is large and almost blue groove, high traction. Should I go with mid-motor or motor in the rear setting?

Don't race it in an on-road class...

Either way, go with the rear-motor layout! You'll love it!!

I know you guys don't like on-road racing... but we have a great on-road set up and we have 9-12 stock slash each week and in the SCT open class 5-9. We have a blast they set up about 6 jumps and there are some really close races. The crowd that stops to watch and we have quite a few spectators love the SCT classes. Rubbin is racing in those classes. Randy at The Hobby Shop in Dayton runs a great summer series.

In the winter the SCT guys go indoors and run off-road and The Factory is a great place to run.

Orion R10 pro. Rear motor. Shorty pack. Any suggestions where to locate the ESC switch and external capacitor set? Also what is the function of the button next to the slide switch?

Best place to mount them is on either side on the esc mounting plate. The button next to the switch is the setup and programming button.
