Guys,
This has been going back and forth. Some say it is a problem some say no. This may all depend on the track you are running on. I ran at Dirtburners on Tuesday night in Detroit. This is a hard clay fast tight track. In practice before doing any of the mods I had to go searching for the complete turn buckle link because it popped of both sides. This was caused by clipping the inside of the tube in a high speed sweeper. Yes I should have not clipped the tube but I did. The truck did not flip over and I continued on and realized I had no steering. So I went to the pits and did the mod. This did help. It stopped the turn buckle link from popping off the rack but it did come off a couple times on the wheel side just like on the 22T. I finished second in the SCT mod A-main and was just very careful not to hit anything. So Wed I spend 6 hrs at the track testing and did have issues with the outside popping off under light impact. Below are the details and pictures. This allows complete steering motion with no binding at all. Yes it is exessive but this is all I could find after looking through all the parts in the hobby shop. I think with would be a great solution in a smaller scale. Another solution maybe just making the ball studs bigger in diameter. More surface area gives better strength.

I ran one last night..well..for 2 heats, put the ball diff in and went almost 2 seconds a lap faster, I was running 7K on a hooked up small indoor track, the gear diff is for a 22B and stock is 5K on the fluid..the gear diff was ok but the ball diff was much easier to drive for sure..
