I'm with you Tony I haven't broke an axle myself and have had quite a few weird and harsh crashes! Not sure what to suggest about it! it's obvious an issue I've seen them break first hand.

I saw one break on Monday. He landed on top of the table top normal and then the wheel came off.

In all fairness like I mentioned before... many times when a part breaks its not that instance that actually broke it. Maybe a pack or 5 before that most likely did the damage and just coincidence when it landed perfect it broke. Ive done it, Ive seen it before.

I dont have any idea what to say to do differently, Ive wailed on my car for the bettter part of 5 months and havent broke a single axle. But I do have one in my parts box now just in case

That's why I bought some. Two guys at our track stripped out there servos a couple times in one day. In the SVR. I've owned Schumacher's for years and they have been strong.

Better make that 2.....lol

I really think the issue is in the material. The dog one it spring steel and from the looks of it so it the axle. I'm thinking the axle should be regular steel. I'm no engineer but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.....lol

i will try to barely tighten the bolt so its tight enough and no tigther, its an easy thing to try just for troubleshooting

In order to harden the metal further it would have to be heated to a higher temp than it was originally hardened to. If this is achieved with a hitachi driver, I want that driver!

Poochy don't you feel bad about broken your axle(s).

Here might make you feel a little bit better. Here is my lower left rear bulkhead.

debating the hex conversion for my son's buggy (and mine soon) Is it worth it or needed or is there a benefit to it? We don't have any buggy wheels/tires so I would like to know before going one way or another and building our tire collection.

Yes, I said "mine soon" I am 90% sure I want to sell my 22SCT and give the buggy class a go. Just need to make up the rest of my mind

I did it for wheel selection.... I have and sell Avid wheels, and the track only carries hex now. So it made sense to me

Basically the new one has some reinforcement where it meets the shock mount, the original one if it took a hit just the right way could break there, the new one is pretty much bomb proof.

Default 17.5 thunder power gearing

Anyone running a 17.5 thunder power motor? Just wondering what gearing you are using.

I drove my SVR last night for the first time. It's a great car, but geared at 76/34(blinky and stock motor timing) seemed slow on the main straight. I have a 69t spur I might try tonight. Other than that this car is great.

Max the timing out on the motor and add some throttle expo.
