buy a losi or a assoc sc10. the slash is a great basher, but you have to do the chassis conversion to LCG so it will corner. at that cost you can get one of the other trucks

$45.00 for the STRC kit, 12.00 Rustler chassis. Then it will smoke the abovementioned fragile toys......

I think that's a bit over the top but it will definitely become competitive when racing along-side them.

I have found my sc10 to be more durable then my said slash (?). I'll break this down as I have 3 slashes and 2 sc10's. 1 slash is a 17.5 class. It has a strc lcg chassis, alum steering rack, protrac, and big bores. Possibly the worst money pit I have ever encountered. Tuning still limited and it's far too pricy to bash. 2nd slash is a high speed road runner. 1/8 ofna on road body and belted tires. They suck at high speeds. 3rd is completely stock, possibly slowest thing N/A and it still manages to breaks shock towers, nerf bars, and a chassis. sc10s are all stock except for a rpm front bumper running mod sc. Great tuning options and excellent durability. Only thing that has happened is a ball stud was pulled out of one. Have you even driven ANYTHING besides a slash?

Leave it stock and just have fun with it. The Most fun I had with my Slash was when it was box stock. When I got the idea to race it competitively it became a major headache. You can throw away a TON of money at upgrading it to the point that it is no longer anything like a stock Slash, yet unfortunately will still be inferior as a racer and you will have lost the Slash's fun loving basher character as well.

Theres about a thousand threads on here about the slash, just do a quick search and you will find them, upper right side of the screen, search this forum.
