Isn't the 1/12 onroad a 2wd pan car

Yes, the 1/12 scale cars are 2WD(rear drive), but they're likely the easiest to set up the physics engine for(which may be why they were one of the first cars they included in the program, along with 1/10 electric touring cars), but I don't think there's any easy way to convert that into the drivetrains of 2WD offroad vehicles, which are considerably more complex.

Never realized they were 2wd.

Even not knowing the physics engine entirely I can say that if they wanted 1/10th and 1/8th e-buggies they would be already here by now. For a physics engine it doesn't matter if it's nitro or electric powered, a monster truck or a pan car, the physics engine just reads whatever the car model file has stored about characteristics like CG height, dimensions and weight (and others) and output something the graphics engine can understand.

I think the most difficult part is making the suspension look right, in sedan the tires are covered and there's no need to draw a-arms and shocks... but in open wheelers it's a 3d model animated by "virtual world" physics, not a predetermined animation like you see when a character run in a video game.

For me, this is not important, the physics engine is "broken", yesterday racing sedan in carpet the car touched slightly the board and was sent to the moon...off road is undrivable for me. I can't make the sedan feel great to me and the marshalling is imagine being marshalled in real life and the marshall took your car placed 3 meters back instead of just flipping it over, that's how it is in VRC.

When will VRC release a new offroad class? And do we know which class it's going to be?

On the VRC forum I have read that manufacturers also have some influence in what is available in the game.

One popular nitro engine manufacturer was approached about setting up their engines for use in VRC but they wanted their products to have a performance advantage over all others. This would not be accurate, nor fair to existing nitro manufacturers so VRC declined to add them and their products to the game.

Looks like there will be E-Buggy coming out. Has priority over 2 wheel SC.

This is not a priority project, 1:8 e-buggy will come first.

Joel

Where did you get that quote? It seems like you know more than the rest of us.

Any other info about a new car in the works?

Development is so slow on VRC, this is disappointing. 1/10th buggies should have been there for a long time now, same with 1/8E buggies.

Yep, they are slow to add new cars but I am so excited to hear about electric buggies coming soon.

This will bring more users, and more revenue for VRC-Pro which means we are slowly getting closer to 1/10 2wb buggy.

I can't wait, virtual RC10B5M

1/10 2wd and 1/10 4wd are some of the biggest classes in RC. To not have them is folly. I will try this game again when they have them.

I wouldn't have my hopes up for 10th scale anytime soon. For some reason the VRC team are completely against opening the game up to mods. It worked for rFactor and many other games so I don't see why it wont work for VRC.
