which cars are faster??
B4 or xxx bk2 or xxx4 or bj4 ??

what do mean by 'faster" they can all be fast.

LOSI, LOSI and er...um....LOSI.

but my question is, which is faster, buggy 2wd, truck 2wd or buggy 4wd??

you can make any car fast. it depends on the motor and batteries you put in it. if you have a B4 with a stock motor, and a traxxas rustler with a 6x1 and batteries from Source Racing Products the Rustler will be faster. it doesnt matter who the maker is of the car.

Depends if you just wanna be straightline fast, or racing fast. you could also play with the gearing...

Give all the same variable such as the batteries, the same motors, same gearing ratios, etc.. the 4wd should be the fastest, followed by the truck then the 2wd. I say that only because of cornering speed.

With the 4wd the front wheels will pull you arround the corner, compared to the 2wd cars.

The truck should be next because they are more stable in the corners because of the wider tires. This means more contact area and they're wider overall as a vehicle.

2wd buggy is usually always faster than truck.

fastest would be 2wd in a straight line, pretty obviously..
round a track (you dont state) maybe the 4wd, depends on what motor / track.
I was certainly faster with the b4 round a high grip track than a standard xxx4, the xxx4 had no 1way and didnt turn quick enough.. the 2wd out did it in everyway.


so there is no real answer, depends on what track, what car, what motor..


the truck is always gonna be the comedy value last place.

I don't always beleave truck will be last, but it does turn out that way.... due to it's size and just doesn't quite handle like a 2wd buggy..... most of the times the 4wd should be faster because of the 4 wheels turning it to get it moving compared to 2 wheels. the only thing is sometimes 4wds tend to get a push on high traction because of the 4 wheels turning it so....

Correctly set up, a 4wd car should never push.

Also..if you drive it correctly, a 2wd car will NEVER be close.

I agree. The people who think 4wd is easier to drive has never driven a properly setup 4wheel. When right, they are super quick on the steering and a handful to drive fast, but when driven right are about .5 to 1 sec faster per lap, depending on the layout.

I think "in your experience" it might be true..
if you get 0.3 seconds a lap quicker with a 4wd i'd call that close.
my 4wd was setup well, apart from needing a 1 way. my 2wd was faster full stop.

that was 9-10 turns

stick a 540 mabuchi in both and watch that gap reverse ! :nod:
