Default B44.1 electronics

Does a standard Tekin RS system with say a 10.5 fit the bill to power this buggy?

Sure it'll power it. You more than likely won't be winning any mod 4wd buggy A-mains but it will definately power it.

10.5 is about the "slowest" motor you'd want to drop in a B44. Most guys run 8.5 or 6.5. If cost is about the same, just grab the 6.5 now and limit your throttle on your radio system to start to get a feel for it. Very fun car to drive!

unless your running at a big outdoor track that will be plent of power you can always up the timing a little bit but i know a lot of guys who run 10.5's in there 4wd because its plenty of power and is easier to control then a say 8.5 or 7.5. but you could always get the 9.5 that still would be a good option. and most of the guys ive talked to using a 8.5 in there b44 say they dont even use full throttle unless its a big long stretch outdoor track with room to open up on the throttle.

(just my 2 cents )

They run 13.5 at our indoor track and they rip. Maybe a bigger track you would want more. Is the Tekin RS or RS Pro best for this buggy? Running 13.5 I think the RS would be safe?

The Tekin RS can handle up to a 6.5T motor w/o issue, so you're more than safe.

I'm running a basic Novak GTB2 with heatsink & fan on a Reedy 6.5T. ESC runs at only about 110 degree and the motor never gets above ~145 after a 10 minute run. Gearing is 81 spur with a 19 pinion. Another local racer runs a HobbyWing ESC on a LRP 6.5T w/o issue as well. You don't *have to* drop a lot of coin on a ESC necessarily.
