Default Racers Input Please ......

Hi guys,

So I only race my buggy at the track. I never bash with it around the house. Being that I'm running at tracks is it necessary to have all that antenna coming out of the receiver box?

Now I know better NOT to cut the antenna, but I want to cut the antenna tube to maybe an inch or 2 above the body. Problem is ---- someone at my track mentioned impedance within the receiver box interfering with my signal and causing the car to act erratic.

In other words -- with the antenna tucked away in the receiver box electro-magnetic issues may arise from the wires all being too close together. Is this a little far fetched and I'm looking too deep into this or is this really an issue? I figured since the antenna has insulation around it as well as all the other wires I didn't think it would be. --- But this guy insists it would.

Thoughts?

Futaba 4pks; I bundle the antenna up and put heat shrink around it. 0 issues.

Ok, so you just put heat shrink all around it.

Any other suggestions? I don't have the shrink or a heat gun.

Radio shack or hardware store for the heat shrink tuning. Loop it up to the length that you want and heat shink it.
Do a range check before driving it to make sure, have a friend hold it at the far side of the track from you and make sure you have control.

$2 crack lighter blow torch deal, that will not char the color and make it look like a turd. Bic or any other regular lighter will.

At least electic tape.
