Not worth giving any real concern to. Most companies now announce a new release 6 months in advance of it hitting the shelves, so you can grow old pretty fast waiting to get your hands on something. No sense worrying about something that is just a rumor.

XFactory is showing a new "X7" platform. It has a unique drivetrain with gearboxes at each end (they're both the same and use stock B4 diffs) to allow for elevated belts (battery choice flexibility). I've seen video of it running, it looks very good.
