maxamps batteries use a "TrueC" rating method that is there own system. They previously had on their website but removed it what it meant.
In short, TrueC is a burst rating. It is NOT a continous rating. To get a common continuous rating, you would cut there TrueC Rating in half.
So your 150C is a 75C and your 120C is a 60C . Though, that should be more than sufficient to handle the load. I personally would call maxamps (assuming you bought it new) and discuss the problem with them. You may also want to advise them that another battery you have though not from them works fine so to eliminate them saying its something other than the battery, assuming your changes to more conservative gearing still gave you issues with the battery.
Those IP Lipos on promatch's site are really good. I have the 6200mah 60C version and it has loads of power.
