Default b4.1 hobbywing 120amp ex-run won't stay cool

I am having trouble with my hobbywing xerun120 amp. It is the v2. I am running it in my b4 with an lrp x-12 8.5 and I cannot get the esc to run cool after 6 minutes. It doesn't thermal but it comes off 160 degrees. I have the super capacitor as well.

I have thrown many diff gear combos at it and I still can't get it to cool down.
21/81
22/78
20/78
27/78 (lol) I read that an under geared car will cause hot esc temps.

I run nothing but 50c or higher top end batteries from, new, to slightly used, to old and puffy, still not luck.

I also experienced the same thing with my speed passion this weekend, it was 95 degrees outside and i dropped 2 - 3 teeth and it thermalled in 3 minutes also running an 8.5 in a kyosho sc-r.

Any body that can help with gearing and temps would be great.

Are you using the heat sink and fan?

Also, are you running any boost or timing? Try setting boost and turbo to 0. Also, have you changed the endbell timing on your motor? Also, have you run 23 / 78 on your B4?

Take the pinion off the motor and ensure the car rolls freely.

How is your motor temps?
If they are low, your overworking your esc, gear it up!

I swear some people don't even bother reading the title or OP.
