my guess, the calipers go on the left side and they use a very small front disc.

Got a question, how will the layout look like with the mech brakes? I noticed you guys have gone for a key/slot motor mount and I believe this may interfere with the front/rear brake discs if there were to be mech brakes.

Thanks for the interest. Keep the questions coming, we'll answer everything we can.
So, for mechanical brakes, we designed a completely new system.
There is NO need for a long shank pinion for any reason on this buggy.
The brake pads and levers are on the left side of the diff mounted vertically, the discs slip in on either side of the diff. There are no clearance issues, we made sure of that during design and testing. You can't see unless you take it apart, but there is a big cutout on the motor mount insert for front disc clearance, it's pretty slick.
You can flip the diff 180 so the gear is in back, but that doesn't affect the brakes. You flip the diff for Traktion Drive or Elektri-Clutch use. So you can use mechanical brakes with standard pinion, TD, or EC. The motor stays in the same position for all options.

We got you covered. There will be a steel option at or soon after launch. We recommend the steel spur for Traktion Drive or Elektri-Clutch use. If you're going direct drive, the plastic spur holds up well.

We'll see where the market takes us. There is plenty of room for the longer truggy motors in the buggy, we made sure just in case we ever wanted to make one we wouldn't have to redesign the whole thing .
The battery tray is 50x150mm so you can move a standard 4s pack forward or backward ~10mm.

We can't say 100% right now. Manufacturing a whole car is tricky and delays are common. That said, everything is in production and we're on schedule for a late June, early July release as of today.
