Thanks man! I guess things changed more than I thought. I was looking at some of the KV ratings on some of these newer esc/motor setups....and that's what got me thinking about the 2S question. So 4S is the standard at race events and so forth now days? And something like a decent 4S on a T8 1900kv or 2050KV motor is still pretty strong?

Doesn't surprise me that the cars got into doing this. I fly giant scale RC aerobatics as well , and the same principle applies when we are running 6S , 8S , 10S and even 12S setups on some of our bigger birds. The higher the cell count , the more efficient it is. Makes me happy to hear that the RC car part of the hobby finally realized this.

This seems like a pretty impressive buggy for sure. I've got a lot of reading to do in this thread. And since I live up in Oregon ( with no indoor tracks any more )......I won't be in a hurry to pick something up.

Sold all my old Kyosho Kanai 3's years ago and kept all my really , really old Mugen MBX4-XR works buggies.....don't think I would have the heart to ever sell them. I have 4 rollers with enough parts to run that dang buggy for the next 10yrs hehe. Just need something newer though.

6. #3 leading to rear gear box input bearing failure
7. Motor mount flex doesn't allow use of plastic spur with Traktion drive
8. Some had trouble building the shocks(skip the o-ring on th cap).
9. Front and rear upper links need shorter turn buckles (very hard to thread plastic ends on all the way.
10. Slight clearance issue with spur gear and diff stop plate.
11. Slight issue with spur gear not seating on diff case.

13. Some thought the gears were loud, but that is how straight cut gears sound.
14. Stock servo horn breaks easily

Compatibility Issues:
1. Novak Activ8 doesn't fit
2. HobbyWing's bigger ESC's may or may not fit
3. Futaba FASST receivers are a tight fit
4. Some servos needs extensions to reach receiver
5. Taller servos may rub servo horn on underside of body
Thanks for being so precise kufman .Do you know what combo is tekno using to test the EB48 today? Are they still on a MMP/ 1415 configuration?

Its a bit of a drive for you but we have a pretty cool outdoor 1/8th track up here in marysville, WA. It is called J&S hobbies. If you get a car you should come to one of the bigger races.

While I will say the Serpent cars are high quality and well engineered , I have seen 2 racers in my area say they didnt like them and they were looking to switch to a differnt car as they couldnt get the 811E to hook up .....

Thanks Crash! Since I've been out for so long....I have to try and get in touch with some of the dudes I used to drive / race with and see what the word on the street is about tracks around here.

Marysville has an MX track too! I haven't been there yet , but have plenty of buddies who have.

Here is some video of me and my buddy Joe B. running our EB-48's this past weekend. My car was running great until a backmarker flipped me when i was in the lead. I was .01 off of TQ when it happened. Joe had his car shut off but got it running again towards the middle of the race. I am the orange car and he is the silver.

Not sure about the ESC but most seem to run the 1415 size motors.

Here is my main. I qualified 8th in the A main. Tires were the wrong compound but all I had. Car was a little on the loose side so I drove safe. Fast forward to the 2 minute mark. It took them a while to start the race.

Good race, your car didn't look too loose to me! You had a nice three way battle there in the beginning, you had their number everywhere but the straight, but we all know where races are won

I had to be gentle on the throttle. I ran j concept mega softs as its all i had left. It was wayyyyyy too soft.lol literally could pull on the tire and stretch it abot an inch and a half.lol. The car ran great all day. I want to try to mess with the speedo as i really was getting yanked down the straight. Love the car though. It was best in my second qualifier with the right tires. Thanks for watching the vid buddy.
