Default Help me select a build.

I recently finished building a backyard track that is 25x60. It has lots of jumps and tight turns. No room for an 1/8th for sure. There is not much for straights or high speed either. I built it to test a drivers skill level. It will hard for someone to just show up and run it without flipping right away. Right now all I have for it is a Mini 8ight and a 1/16 revo. I hate the revo because its so top heavy and awkward in the air. The mini 8ight does fair but the track is a bit much for the little tires on it. I need a 4wd 1/10 that has lots of torque for short burst to clear jumps with very little speed. I was thinking a Hyper TT with a 4-pole motor. I'd like to run 2S and stick pack instead of saddle. Any thaughts what I vehicle and electronics I should run. I didn't have a lot of room for a track so I figured since its kind of small might as well make it a challenge.

Tamiya has range of buggies that are suitable for backyard bashing. DEX410 is to expensive for bashing plus Tamiya has lots of sellingpoint though local hobby stores. Durango hasn't (yet).

The hyper TT isn't a bad choice. There are a few guys around here that do everything from bashing to racing on 1/8 scale track with them. Some of them are running 3s with 2800 kv motors that absolutely scream, but are still pretty reliable.

actually if your looking for a good cost effective backyard basher you should look at the Losi mini 8ight. its a little smaller, 14th scale, but its fast and durable and 4x4.

Hand quicker than the eye. Cody01 already owns one and is looking for something else.
Cody01, All of the suggestions are good quality cars. I would suggest going with a car that is supported by the local hobby shop. Sucks having a track in the back yard and your waiting on parts for the car you would love the play with. Just my $0.02.

I'd suggest a 2wd buggy. If you made the track to test driver skill, buy a car to test it even more.

No local hobbyshop support. Our economy here couldn't keep one open. Everything for me is online order. The reason I said 4wd only has nothing to do with driver skills. The soil is so loose a 2wd would not make it around too well and also the wheel spin would not allow enough short burst speed build to clear jumps with short approaches. When we had a real track and hobbyshop I ran everything from 2wd SC10 to 1/8 RC8T truggies but I'm dealing with a smaller track and loose dirt that doesn't pack well.

you could look at Caster S10B Perfect 10 Pro Kit V2. http://casterracingusa.com/product.p...age=1&featured
It seems like a nice 4wd buggy that is like $350 and is 90% aluminum. Has a lot of hop up part options and would be perfect for your size track.
