Blinky poll
Can someone set up a poll for me?
Should stock classes be blinky? yes or no? |
Yes.
Before no-timing stock rules, nobody ran stock in my area. Now it is the most popular and fun class. Before timing speed controls came out, 13.5 sedan racing was very popular. Now all of the carpet tracks are closed. |
No timing
Timing is unfair for those who can't afford the high prices of the esc's that can be competive |
Blinky for sure. Id like to see a super stock class again blink w/13.5.

Stock should be no timing/boost ect. There should be a difference in speed compared to the mod class. Even my statement kind of goes against itself. At one of the larger tracks I race at, the top drivers in stock buggy would have put them in the A in mod buggy.
There is a misconception that stock is slow, it's really not. You have to look at it for what it is. Clean driving and properly set up cars. |

+1 no timing/boost on the ESC, a little mechanical timing in the motor is cool;)

even tho i don't race stock anymore, I always thought stock racing was about making all the vehicles the same when it comes to the power and speed. That being said, i never cared either way. spec classes are for everyone to abide by that "specification". I think blinky has gone nationwide now. blinky is what it is and that's that.
I really never bought into the "expensive speed control" theory. aside from tires, stock anything is super expensive to stay competitive. every time a new motor comes out or a super high "c" rated battery, you had to have it. if anything, non blinky made it less expensive. |
Blinky is just as expensive as mod minus the esc. But you dont see many low end esc's in the class:D
|
+1 for blinky
|
yes for blinky. i run in a blinky 17.5 sc at my local track. it all comes down to how well u drive
|
Stock should be mechanical speed control. :D
I was going to say that would keep the cost down, but you know how it rolls... faster servo's and better engineered resistors and whatnot. |
I've heard this term used a lot. Is Blinky another word for using timing on the ESC?
