Default DB01 RR

So there ya go - Tamiya have announced the DB01-RR!

It'll have big bore shocks, oil filled gear diffs, and all the usual TRF bits from the DB01-R.

This is the kit to buy.

The DB02 was a failed experiment!

I wouldn't call it a failed experiment great starter outdoor buggy, belt cars are a pain in the but for new racers. once these long awaited gear diffs come out that work with the Tb04,502x and db02 it'll make it that much more durable.

Seeing that Tamiya is releasing an improved DB01 and re-releasing the DF-03MS makes me wonder if they pulled the plug on the DB-02. I thought the DB-02 was supposed to be a "sport" version of the 502X. A year and some change later you'd expect to have seen a DB02 with a different body or maybe even a DB02 Pro.
Is there something wrong with the basic design of the car? Racecrafter has had impressive results with the car. Watching Youtube vids, owners seem very satisfied with their car.

Hell, if they're dong the re-release thing can I get a Vanquish (plastic fantastic Egress FTW!) or at least a Thundershot?

I race my db01 almost every weekend, and it has been a fantastic buggy. I can wait for the RR version

Great looking car! You do anything else to it? Tamiya sure knows how to make cab-forward look good

Have added the following items
Tamiya big bores, fr & rr universals, motor heat sink (under chassis), metal hinge pin suspension balls, Kyosho ball end foams, Xray Alu wing washers, 3 racing Alu servo horn, Have placed 5.5 speed passion motor but may change to 7.5 when esc installed, tamiya pink wheels, also found during the build 1 extra shim added to rear diff to make the mesh a little tighter as there was a bit of side to side movement and have added bearings in place off brass bushes for steering, and that's it for now. Plan to run in 4wd mod within the next 2 weeks and have a spare set of db01 high traction arms but want to run it as is to start with and then go from there.

RIP DB02? I guess it was a failed experiment. Tower lists it as discontinued

I have the DB02R. I bought B44 front wheels and they are the wrong offset....when you tighten them down the rim rubs on the bearing carrier and won't spin freely. Are B44 hexes and thicker?....or can I use some shims? It doesn't need much. What are my options?

Does anyone know if there is a gear diff option available that will work in the Db02 or 502x ?
