Default Proline vs. Jconcepts buggy tires

Just wondering who you think makes the better tire for 2wd buggy and why.

I guess I should throw AKA and Losi tires in there as well, as my LHS carries those four brands.

My LHS doesn't carry Panther. Pretty much the only reason.

Why do you want to stick to just one brand? I always have a set of Holeshots,Barcodes,DD's,Rips,Wishbones,Subcultures ,Bowfighters and Calibers for both my kits.

I just want to know everyone's opinions. I want to switch to Proline, because from what I can tell, they are 100% made in America. I'm looking to buy as many American made products that I can find, and in this hobby, it's not an easy task. I was just wondering mainly how Barcodes compared to Suburbs, and Double Dees to Suburbs. I know what works on my track for most guys (seems to be Jconcepts), just curious if the prolines would work just as good or better.

Decide for your self but AKA is the best IMO. Longest wear and best over all performance. I also standby there red insert. Best combo I have ever used.

This is my opinion from trying most of these out myself

One tire for one driver is not going to feel the same to another driver same track.

I got my Buggy. I bought rebars cause the fast guys used them. I was not able to make it around the track 1 full time without sliding out in every corner. They did not fit my driving style (At that time)

A friend of mine had a few sets mounted so I tested then out.
I found my driving style (At that time) liked Jconcepts Barcodes V2 Green. I was very fast with them,
I than bought a pair of HB Beams (best tire for a SCT on the track) they worked ok. had a little slide to them but I liked them.

Last night I tested another set of rebars and omg I love then now. I fly across the track with them. buggy is now dialed and I am able to drive better.

I have also tested a pair of Double Dee's. I can't drive with them on my 2wd buggy. I can on my 4wd buggy though..

Best thing to do is find someone that will let you try some out and see what fits you the best.

I am hoping to try some Prolines out. if they ever get back in stock.

A tire will feel different with a Buggy that is dialed compared to the same buggy not dialed.

Try the AKA tires. Red insert. Be sure to put 4 1/8th holes in the tires before gluing. 2 to 4 same in the wheels. Hear say is hear say. The sad truth is testing them all is the only way to feel the difference. I run the Rebar AKA red insert super soft. High grip and low grip. And they last the longest out of all of them. I have tried them all.

I haven't tried these 3D's yet though.

^ I thought those were still concepts?

I tried out the AKA Impacts last weekend on a track where DD's usually do very well. I liked the AKA's a lot, seemed to have a bit more side bite.

Hahahaha!! Yup! Although I will say, the Street Fighter tires I picked up for my SC10 balanced surprisingly well. Definitely the exception, not the rule.

I would definitely try out the Pro-lines! The new closed cell foams they include with the buggy tires are just awesome. I think the suburbs are a little better than the barcodes, for the reason that they seem to last longer and provide a little more forward bite. For the double dees, the PL holeshots would be more similar than the suburbs. Both are pin type tires. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I choose to run JConcepts tires and accesories because they flat out work. Green shaved Rips and Green clipped Barcodes are the fastest/most consistent tires at our track. I dont do to much experimenting in tires, I cant afford to nor do I see it necessary. I just look/talk to the Amain pro-drivers and see what they are doing, it's always the same thing, JC's! Not to mention Jason Ruona is a super nice guy and JConcepts has awesome customer service.....JConcepts for me all the way!
