Default Traxxas slash 4x4 motor noise

I recently purchased a Traxxas slash 4x4 rc car. It has the velineon brushless motor. The 2.4. I maybe have 2 battery uses out of it and all of a sudden what sounds like to me the motor is making a noise and the car lost speed. Its a loud whinning noise. Ive taken the motor off and operated it and its lounder than and transfering throughout the car pretty bad. The spur gear is in good shape. Is this common on these motors? Is there a stronger motor than i can purchase? Or faster motor? thanks for the help

Sorry to hear of your motor issues. Sounds like the rotor may be delaminating. You can check by taking off the end bell and pulling the rotor. if it is new it will be covered under warranty.

I have had mine for 1 1/2 years all racing with no problems.

I have ordered a Mamba Max Pro 3800 and ESC. it puts out twice the torgue of the Velineon. If your an expert this would be good motor for you. but the velineon is more than fast enough to start with. Goold luck
