Default Losi XXX Battery Fit Question

I recently picked up a nice and old Losi XXX buggy. I used to race this buggy back in the late 90's. So, I am living in the past a bit right now.

Any who, the battery area is such a tight fit for my 2s LiPo hard packs that it just will not fit. Any one else have this issue with using modern battery packs in an older car?

I will try to take some pictures of it to illustrate.

Here are some pictures of a buggy that is similar to mine - care of a link to an eBay ad. It is the Losi XXX BK2.

The battery pack hits the servo cover.

No problem here, I've used multiple models of hard case lipos from several brands in several XXX vehicles.

Oops, wait a minute, now I remember.

I did have to dremel the servo brace to run the hard pack all the way forward in the buggies. A file would work too, just make it even with the front of the battery box.

P.S. Suggest slotting the hole in the battery bar out a little to the rear. Other wise hard landings can flex the chassis a little and jam the bar, snapping the nub off of the servo brace.
