Default Having Trouble With Gearing On A Duratrax Evader Buggy...

How are ya's....Anyway i opened my brand new duratrax evader ep bx and the motor it comes with (Photon speed) was an utter piece of crap..Cut a long story short, i put an 11x2 panther sport machine wound motor in this thing.....running the stock spur gear and a 24 tooth spur (both 48 Pitch).....The thing got massively hot to the point where the wire came straight off the armature causing the motor to sieze completely...i took it out and burnt myself stupid.....

Can anyone PLEASE give me some info on gearing for this baby, I Want to run a core stock in it but opinions and tips on motor choice would be much appreciated.....

Oh and yes....The motor was a throw-out......

well first off, to my knowledge unless you changed the esc it cant handle an 11x2. ive never tried the core stock but i imagine its a good motor

Haven't got an electric buggy yet, but the manual for my B4 that should be here soon says that as the number of turns reduces on the motor, so should the number of teeth on your pinion. For the stock motor on the b4, it suggests 22 - 24 teeth, and a 20 t pinion for an 11 turn mod motor

cheers

I'm not 100% sure what the tranny ratio in the BX is. If it's 2.6:1, try a 20 or so. If it's the old 2:19:1 tranny, you're going to need to drop down to a 16 or so.
