Boomerang re-release

I would pay $180 for it

Hotshot is still available yet Boomerang is discontinued. I would say a bit higher than $180 since that's the street price for hotshot. You can try $250 or BO.

I'd be stunned if you got $250. Yes it's discontinued, but only by a few months, There will be thousands on them out there NIB. It took the original 20 years to be worth anything, why would the mass-produced re-release suddunly be appreciating in value?

$250 or B.O.

One sold recently for $200 plus shipping cost

it's worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for it... which is likley the exact same amount of money you paid for it.

When I decided to get back into RC with my son after quite a few years away I thought about getting a Re-Release kit of the Grasshopper since it was the first buggy I started with. The kit cost $100-$120 ish and started realizing that you could buy 20+ years of improvements for not much more money and have a more capable toy. So needless to say I passed on the vintage kit and bought something newer.

Re-Release kits play on the nostalgia in all of us but practicality usually wins out. You might find someone to buy it for the nostaligia value and get your money back or you might be holding on to it until it really becomes a collectors item.

IMHO.

 i raced one back in the day BIG 1400mah nicad 05 brushed stock motor.
think the car was around $600 Au back then, hell it cost me $90 to add bearings instead of bushes, not far from the re-release cost

My LHS just sold me a boomerang for $165. It was a 2nd one for me as I first picked up a re release right after it came out to run at a Vintage race. They are getting harder to find though and may bring a decent price for you
