I have no idea if it can be done, hopefully someone else does. Hopefully someone can answer soon...I don't like the feel of the transmitter that came with it.

Yes, the radio will work with your emaxx. Believe it even has a set of instructions for setting it up with your truck. Its 3rd channel is programmable to do a number of different functions.

Just intall the reeiver and you may need to trim the connectors polarity edge to get them to plug into the receivers jacks. It's the plastic edge sticking off one side..........Be sure the red and black wires are in the same place as origional when you plug it back together and rest your trims, Tada!......Jim, TeamLosi, J Concepts

I meant can I use it with reciever that's in the E-maxx. I already used the reciever that came with it in my x-ray t1fk, do I have to go out and buy another reciever.

Oh, have no clue what transmitter ships with the Traxxas, thought it was AM though. If so, no, it wont work. Receivers dont usually work well with other transmitter.

No it won't work. The Traxxas uses a 27Mh am radio. The vast majority of the XS3's are 75Mh and all the XS3's are fam. Then you still have to figure out the push of the recievers and radios. Airtronics, JR, KO, and Multiplex are all positive shift. Futaba an Hitec are negative shift.

I have the XS3 stock reciever's in a couple of my cars and I'm using an Airtronics M8 radio now and there's no problems.

Any suggestions on a good alternative to the JR receivers, they are kind of expensive. Also, what do you mean by positive and negative shift?

Basically they have a polarity, depending on the the brand you may have to switch some wires.

Positive and Negative shift refers to the frequnency waves and how they work, under and over zero. Some modulate up, some down from Zero, etc. You can't mix the two types, they won't see each other. So the brand doesn't matter, only the type of signal generated and received.
