RC racing is still trying to prove that two solid objects can be in the same place, at the same time.

My first was a second hand Tamiya Manta Ray back between 96-98 I think. The tires were so worn that they looked like racing slicks, and it had a mechanical speed regulator and shocks were almost falling apart. It was still great fun though. I continued the interest by buying a new monster truck from Kyosho and trimming it like mad.

Now about 14 years later I've taken interest into it again and I'm currently updating myself on LiPo batteries, 2.4ghz radios, brushless motors, and all the new stuff that has come into play. I'm working on a Losi SCT and have a second hand Schumacher Shotgun that I'm restoring for wild bashing together with my young son who also loves RC.

My first RC kit was kyosho pegasus in 88, got a Losi JRX2 2 years later when I turned 16 in 90 and started racing at a outdoor track. After that I had a XX for a while and then I got serious and got a AE 94 worlds car, and a RC10T and raced until the local track closed in 95. after a 15 year break back into racing with a couple of factory team SC10's

My first hobby grade R/C car was a World Engines Rockbuster around '87 or so. It was actually a copy of a Tamiya Grasshopper but with a different body. It actually became a Tamiya Hornet over time because I managed to break nearly every single part and used Tamiya parts to fix it.

i THINK it was 87- I mowed enough lawns to buy a grasshopper and made a track in the field behind the house with a hoe, shovel and rake!
