In 1984 my mother bought me a Nikko for Christmas (with a 911 body).
My first hobby - level - racer was a Tamiya TT-01. I still have it and race it today.

First car as a kid in the 90's was a Tyco buggy. First real RC car was a Traxxas Slash 2wd, basic RTR. Still one of my favorites to drive and bash!

Tamiya Frog.
I saw an older neighbor driving it, and I ran home to tell my parents all I want for Xmas was that thing. Drug them over there to look at it and BAM, under the tree for Xmas.
They had it professionally painted just like the box.
Those damn White heat things (can't remember the name of them) LOL

The Hornet was my first and my cousin had the Frog.
He got out soon after and I kept at it for a short while until I discovered full scale cars and girls......
Got back in with one toe in the water about 4 years ago and went silent again due to life getting in the way.
Back a it now with my son @ 11, it's more fun now than it has ever been.
He's learning fast, this hobby was directly responsible for my having some mechanical aptitude in life.
Everyone should know some basic problem solving skills in life, it goes a long way.....
Happy to be back!

Tamiya Boomerang.
Brother had the Monster Beetle. Friends had the Frog, Hornet, Lunchbox, and Wild Willy.
Some of the most fun memories involve me and my friends bashing around the neighborhood with these things, and that's why I still love rc today.
