This is going back 20 or so years lol but my first r/c was a Tamiya Grasshopper, my dad had but gave me it. It had nascar goodyear tires on it with a #51 Mello-Yello Days Of Thunder Parma Lumina body, I was 4 or 5 years old! I might still have the chassis somewhere around, could have thrown it out but I still have the body....Now I have 5 monster trucks, 4 Clodbusters(got into clods about 13 yrs ago), 1 Juggernaut2, a Nitro TC3(which is in my avatar pic), a 1/12 scale Formula Boats U-1 hydroplane from ProBoat and a 1/12 Miss Budweiser, and an old MRP electric Miss Budweiser.

Tamiya Hornet.

Summer 1987. I was in advanced training in the Army!

First build kit too.

I then got a RC10 in 1988. Mail ordered to Germany from Tower Hobbies. Got a Kyosho Ultima from them a few months later. THey used to sell Kyosho back then.

I need to build a new kit. Have not done in a long time. Been buying RTR's for a while now.

96 or 97 got a losi xxt cr with a tekin esc and trinity mignight motor. Then got into onroad with an old associated rc12ls and later a tc3 then rs4 nitro which sucked so upgraded toa mugen mtx4 i think and rc10gt for some nitro action didnt like that went back to a losi xxx spec with blue tires and stuff. Then tried nitro again with a savage ss then tried the tc3 again and got a tamiya f201 left the hobby for 8 years. Came back with a sc10 then got a xxxt and a xxx cr picked up another xxx cr then bought a rc8be ft buggy and unloaded the xxt and 1 of the xxx cr and just got my jammin scrt10. I'm super addicted and love the new stuff but still long for the old out dated tech

Mine (like many others) was a Tamiya Hornet in the 80's. The batteries were garbage and the suspension was horrible, but I couldn't get enough of it. Now I'm 39 and back in it, though now with a little more income...

My first rc car was the Kyosho Big Bear in the late 80s and then a Team Losi Junior T Stadium Truck in the mid 90's...I took a long break from RC since then and now I'm back in it and run an HPI Blitz.

Oh the days of BLOODSHOT eyes!

Christmas of 83' I believe was when under the tree was a nice big box containing a Tamiya Sand Scorcher for me and another box for my younger brother containing a Tamiya Rough Rider. Oh the memories.

After bashing around our backyard track with those for awhile, my brother moved onto the Tamiya 4 wheel drive Boomerang and a Falcon while I moved onto the AE RC10 gold pan.

After being out of the hobby since probably 89' I have since returned to the excitement but am now sharing it all with my son and a pair of RTR SC10's and also a Losi22 for myself.

It has been such a great bonding tool for my son and I and not to mention good clean fun for him. I can however still feel the excitement in my gut from the Christmas morning in 83' when I was unwrapping that box as it slowly revealed the cover art of that blue and white beetle.
