First edition HPI Firestorm, never raced it, but I gave it a beating. Now, a losi-scte, just got it built ready for racing. Anybody race @ RC RACE BARN in Jeff City. I think that is where I'm going to start racing. No tracks in the Springfield area.

Since I don't have pics of my first car (Frog), I'd like to share some pics of my second car. It started life as a regular Kyosho Optima that I bought new in 1985 or something, but within a year or two, I'd upgraded it with a Gold Celebration chassis & Option House gold shocks and Turbo Optima parts acquired when a buddy of mine got out of the hobby and sold me his Turbo Optima & a nearly complete box of parts from an unbuilt Salute.

I never liked the Turbo O. or Salute bodies, though, preferring the regular Optima body with a wing. The only issue was that 8.4V battery packs didn't fit under that body, so I cut out access holes in the body for racing--something I now regret doing. This is the same body & paint-job I came up with back in 1986 or so. I've seen the "Moo-cow" paint schemes that appeared several years later, but to my knowledge, this was possibly the first zebra-themed paint-job. (If anyone knows of a pre-1986 zebra-themed paint-job, I'd enjoy seeing it!)

A few years ago, I freshened up the ol' Optima with some modern 2.2" Pirate wheels, dyed & cut-down JG bumper and LRP ESC, but that's about all I modernized.

Tamiya Bruiser. It was long gone before I knew what it was. I even checked my mom's attic. I had a wall charger that took forever to charge the battery. Then an RC10 with the gold pan. Bought a Stealth tranny for it too.
