car does donutes HELP!

I got a duratrax evader. Put the mamba max pro esc and a castle 6900KV motor. I get going runs perfect once i start to reach around half throttle the car just starts doing donutes. I took apart the gear box cleaned it all, lubbed it up. I did realize something that shocked me, If i sit it up, hold 1 tire and run it full throttle 1 tire balloons pretty good. If i hold the other tire and run full throttle the other tire balloons pretty good if i hold no tires neither of them balloon really any. any information about this be very helpful!

It's not donutes, it's donuts. I hope this helped.

You might want to check the differential, or the bearings. More info here.

what should I check with the differential. that was my first thought. everything seemed fine to my untrained eyes.

Get some coffee to help balance it out :D. But in all seriousness, also check your rear drive shafts. Make sure you're not missing one or both are balanced. Goodluck.

ridinloudprod 12-24-2011 04:51 PM

Thank you. I know im not missing 1 as for them being balanced im not for sure

Fill the diff with thick grease, that should help.

ridinloudprod 12-24-2011 05:30 PM

its not your normal diff. its pretty much 2 of ya standard slipper clutches with a single gear n the middle

slasn_48 12-24-2011 06:20 PM

Then tighten it up if you can. If it's a ball diff you should be able to.

ridinloudprod 12-24-2011 06:27 PM

It is pretty tight now. Ill go even tighter and try that.

carcrazy699 12-24-2011 06:28 PM

Sounds like the diff is loose on it. Try just tightening it little by little and see how it reacts

ridinloudprod 12-24-2011 06:56 PM

when I first put it back together, i tried to go and the car just sat there, so I tighted it up alot and I can drive it up against my foot go full throttle and spin the tires leaving a nice black mark on the driveway. both tires spinning so I am pretty sure its tight enough. ill mess with the tightness of it though and see if i can get anything to change.

if i just go full throttle i can have the front tires straight and the car just does circles all i got to do is old the gas. so it has to be something in the rear end.

Learn how to build and adjust your diff properly. This thread will help http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...er-clutch.html
