Default Sensored motor question

Hello

what's the difference between a sensored motor that can be run without it's sensor cable and a sensorless motor?

Im sure people will tell you to go look it up and that there is lots of information out there but whatever... here you go.

With a sensored motor...You have the option of running sensored if you wanted that smooth throttle band and less cogging at low throttle, which is what you get from the sensorless motors.

When running sensorless, the only difference is the sensor mechanism is just dead weight and the space it requires reduces the maximum possible stator and rotor length in a given can size.

Good answers.

Just FYI, I have run a Novak SS8.5 sensored motor with a Castle sidewinder (sensorless) ESC and just wrapped the sensor cable around the shock tower. It worked fine.
