Default Kyosho mini inferno overheating

I have a all aluminum mini inferno with a 8000kv mamba max brushless motor with a 3s lipo. I can only drive it for about 4 minutes before the motor exceeds 200 degrees. Will the 4800kv or 5600kv motor work without overheating?

well your issue is that you arent supposed to be running the 8000kv motor on 3s.If memory serves me correct the 4600 is the biggest motor they recommend on 3s..BTW good to see the minis making a come back..here is a pic of my KMRC converted mini-inferno..

Looks good. What about a 2s on a 8000kv. I have a 14t pinion and 31t spur.

if you are using the stock center tranny from the MI I wouldnt run anything over the 5200 kv on 2s..but at least with the 8000kv on 2s you wont be over heating the motor.BTW a 12t pinion would be more appropriate for the 8000 KV.

BTW just had to add , i cant beleive you are running 3s in yours..I had troble keeping diffs in mine with a 5200kv on 2s, and that was withthe improved slipper in the kmrc conversion...even destroyed a set of metal gear diffs from the 09 gas buggy running that set-up..

All we had to do was tighten the slipper and shim the diffs as tight as they will go. Ill post pics of the set-ups

The one with red flames is mine and the green flames is my dad's. These have been sitting on the shelf since 2008 due to overheating issues.

Heres the inside layout

These were designed 3 years ago when the lipos were starting on fire so we built a fire wall to protect the motor

We had to make a custon driveshaft cover because the battery wires were to long

Hopefully we can get these going without overheating.

I tried the 7.4 volt lipo and it worked fine. It got alittle hotter than 200 but thats because I was doing speed runs. I checked and I have a 13t pinion. Will a 14t pinion make it run a lot hotter or just 5-10 degrees?
