i just got a crazy deal.
being i think its so good, im just gonna share it with some other rc brothers..

From a close friend of mine...

All this stuff is either brand new in package or practically new....
RC8.2E factory team ...only sign of use is a scratch on the rear hinge pin retainer. THATS IT.
Has foam tires on it and a set of new badlands on rims.
spektrum 6100 servo (new in box)
mm2/2650 (new in box)
Castle link (new in package)
trinity revtech 6950mah 100c 4s lipo
Spektrum dx4r pro with two recievers...one of em being a sr2000 dsmr new in package
Dynamite passport ultra duo charger
Facorty team aluminum rear hubs (new in package)
Factory aluminum front n rear chassis braces installed.
A toolbox with some miscellaneous rc8 "stuff" ...(screws, spare drive shafts, diff ring n pinion, aluminum shock caps....aluminum servo horn etc etc)
and for the cherry on top....He throws in a lightly used pair of timberland construction boots ...my size..(washed,deloused n deodorized)

All this .......for 450 bucks.
i dont even need this stuff. i mean, yeah, i could use a better remote/charger...extra lipo etc....but i dont need it. I shouldnt even be spending the money....BUT....I couldnt have said "no" to that.
Kinda helps make up for other senseless rc related purchases of made.

............................................

me i like AE.....
A few months back i was looking for my first 1/8 buggy n got the tlr 8e 3.0....I wanted to go AE but
i just liked the narrow chassis of the 8e 3.0...and how the car looked in general.
i thought the rc8 was all stubby n stumpy looking...i took the body (silencer painted white) off and was holding it and it reminded me more of a rubber ducky that belongs floating around in some bubbles in the bathtub instead of on an rc car....
Now that ive had it sitting over here for two days, im looking at it across the room as i type....n it dont look too shabby at all.
im really diggin' this thing.
.....and with the foam tires that are on it, it looks like it wants to go fast.

im gonna keep it set up as it is....with the foams...and im gonna throw the mm2/2650 in there and for the time being just have it for an occasional parking lot run once in a while.
my question is similar to the post above....Will this car handle a 6s in there for a couple of quick speed runs or will the diffs get torn apart??
i know the castle 2650 is rated for 4s but from all accounts it should handle
the rare 20 second 6s burst.
Its the drive train im worried about.

Dont worry about the drive train of this beast or the durability. I ran mine on 6s for a long time just make sure you screws on the motor and motor mount have blue lock tite on them and you will be good.

I am what I would call a track basher, don't really race but only drive at the track. These things will take down a Losi on the track with the right driver behind the wheel. Three Losi 8ight 2.0's in the group and three Rc8.2e's we mostly all run tekin 1900kv with 4S batts. The RC8.2e is for sure the stronger car.

^ thanks for confirming!
I will be limited to the battery size due to the battery holder in this car...any recommendations in terms of battery choice in 6s?

Check this out...inspires me to modify mine, rather than but a pure on-road car. It looks fantastic with Traxxas XO-1 wheels as well. What a beast!!!

https://youtu.be/6sbednZBn5Q

Has anyone else here made their buggy 'on-road' or 'top end' friendly? I get the feeling I'm part of a minority group...

Some new paint......

......then a brother slipped into the wife beater, grabbed the sticker pile (ah yeah babe) n got my slap on.

I few days ago my opinion of the rc8 was that it was fat, stumpy n and kinda heinous looking.....

Now,fuggedaboudit....,I love this thing.

Love both of those body's, good work. I did my first lexan in years, and I mean a lot of years. and first With AB. Went for visibility on track

While I'm here, I want to ask. I'm not into what swopping diffoils will do to the car's characteristics.

don't plan to do a lot of racing, but we have a local track a friendly guy made last year. Never rased it, but it has astroturf (?)
any thought's from looking at the photos what might be a good starting point for both diffs and dampers ? ( got the FT dampers on the way for my RTR)

thanks all

right now i have the MM2/2650 combo in there with a 19t pinion.
Battery im gonna be using is a Trinity Revtech 6950 mah 100c 4s.

(Thats pretty much what i bought the car with, including slicks)

But mainly im gonna be messing around between the Castle 2650 and 2200...and between 4s-6s ... Gonna keep this one on road for the time being.

I see practically everyone running low kv's but the 2650 is awesome. Thats all i know.
....and in the buggy, i like the 2650 better than the 2200....but i'll be switching it up.

yeah, im gonna be running 6s in there....but, only when im in the mood to push it to the limits for an occasional speed run.

The motor is only rated for 4s but ive seen many people comment on how they do it and its fine. Ive also seen others mention how its not recommended and its a recipe for a toasted motor.
......Sometimes the only way to find something out is to do it yourself.
That being said, it cant be good for that specific motor and im sure will end up leading to damage.
....but for the occasional 10-15 second speed run, I'll take the risk.

4s is ridiculously fast with the 2650.... For riding around, its more than enough.
6s will be strictly for a straight line.

me and the other 2 guys i ride with all three prefer the 2650 over the 2200 in 1/8 buggy...

my friend has been running a tekin 2650 in his 1/8 ofna, strictly on 6s and that thing has been fine (have to be mindful of temps)...never clocked it but it has to go at least 80-90mph...i woudnt be surprised if it was even around 100.
80-90 is me leaning towards the conservative side. (one cartwheel and those shiny looking aluminum shock caps n shock towers on that rc8 will be toast....not to mention the other possibilities of various heinous damages)
The tekin motor,im pretty sure is rated for 6s though,as opposed to the castle.
