Default Novak Ballistic or Novak SS Pro???

What is the difference between the Novak ballistic and the ss pro electric motos? Im running a class where we need 21.5t motors. Just trying to figure out which one is better and what the differences are? Thanks

Pretty much the same performance. The Ballistic is completely and easily rebuidable and has a plug in sensor harness.

+1 on that, I am a HUGE fan of the Velociti motors... I have switched back to them since having way too many issues with Ballistics burning up for no reason... The SS Pro with a tuning rotor is an absolute beast! They don't get hot for no reason and can be found on the for sale section for CHEAP! I bought 3 used 13.5's for like $80, thats a lil more than 1 new ballistic!

same performance, SS has the sensor wire hard wired (not a fan of that) but both work well. Other than the sensor wire there's no reason to pick one over the other as far as performance.

I think you guys are kinda off on this one. With the Ballistic motors you can adjust the endbell timing! This makes a HUGE differance in performance. The SS series has a locked endbell and cannot have the phyisical timing advanced by normal means.

Yeah they sure do, but overall doesn't really make the ballistic the best IMHO... If ya want timing, I have always used the esc for that...

Never said it was better, just stating that the timing is a big differance in the motor.

In some SPEC type classes ESC timing is not allowed, the only timing allowed is motor timing. Not to mention most of the older ESC's (GTB for one) doesn't have a timing feature.

Ok, I hear ya, also I noticed that the SS can is a lot longer than the ballistic and so is the rotor... IDK if that helps at all, just discovered that 2 weeks ago...
