Default Tekno V4 or AE FT Electric Conversion RC8T

Hey guys, I know this has been covered in its various areas, but I cannot really find pros / cons of either system..

I have a RC8T with most of the CE upgrades, but am in a bind to which conversion kit I purchase, if one is better than the other etc..

If anyone can give me some pointers on what to and what not to buy / upgrade would be great..

Will be using the HW XERUN 120A 2700kv system if that helps any…

I have a v4 and its awesome. I would run it with your setup simply because you need the mechanical brakes, but everything about the kit is good.

I would definitley get the Tekno kit over the AE conversion , the Tekno kit has a really nice balanced layout and can use traktion drive or clutch or direct drive , lots of tuning options and the materials are top notch .

I've got the V4 for my D8T and love it!

Most run the direct drive as I do but I'm curious about the traktion drive as well.

Good luck

So there is no problem running the direct drive with the truggy??

A few people have told me to use the Traktion drive??

Thanks for all the feed back, have organised the Tekno kit over the weekend, just waiting for the postman to deliver

I have the V4 and my wife has the V3. Both are better than stock. The balance on the V4 is very nice. I run direct drive cause I like the feel of it and I like the instant power. It's a great setup no doubt.

okay got it all together now.. You guys are right the teckno v4 kit is unreal in terms of quality...

Just a question about gearing..

I have a 14T Clutch Bell (im going to run the brake servo etc) with 52T Spur)

I have the Hobby wing Ezrun 2700kV with 120A esc..

Will this gearing be okay to start off with.. Im pretty sure that the std spur in the RC8T is smaller right??

Let me know your thoughts..

thanks again...

Good choice on the kit, you'll love the V4. i run TD on both my buggy and truggy and love it.

the nitro RC8T's came out with a 54T spur, but if you've got a 52T then a 13T would probably be the go with that motor. 14T might be a bit tall.

I'm not familiar with the motor you are refering to but its going to be screaming on 4S and probabaly not the best choice for a truggy. Personally, i'd be inclined to go with a lower KV motor. In my truggy i run a sensored HW 2000kv and it runs beautifully with the 150A xerun speedy.
