track size and layout are huge factors in this. also the RPM of the motor can play a factor asweel, expecially MVP's. on a 120x60 I gear them between 16-17 86(red). hope this helps

Yes, please keep threads in the correct forum. People who race touring and other electric on-road cars come to this forum, you will get more people to look at your topic if you put it in the correct forum

I use a 19 with no problems with the 86. the MVP is torqey as hell. It has Real strong magnets and can handle nineteen with no problem in a 5 minute race. Over 6 minutes the motor will over heat. So if you are racing go 18 to 19 depending on motor. Backyard bashing go 16 to 17.
