Default What carpet will work for indoor offroad track?

Does anyone with first hand experience know if the extremely low pile indoor outdoor carpet home depot sells will work for short course trucks and off road vehicles? Thanks

There's a track up here in Oregon that uses non-grippy kinds of carpet to have created an "Off-Road" track. There's a thread with pics for it here: http://www.rctech.net/forum/northwes...-oregon-7.html - MadDog986 runs the show so if you have questions about the carpet itself, he'd be the guy to get ahold of.

It's actually a lot of fun. They don't allow foam tires and you have to still have some sort of "OffRoad" tread on your tires so it has less grip than some clay tracks I've ran on.

I used to organizes races that were carpet and painted asphalt. Really slick to really high grip on the same track. It was a ton of fun. Carpet works very well. Some people may not like it as much but they'll get over it if they really want to run.
