I did change the way the battery is held in, giving the chassis a little more flex and it has really helped on the local outdoor track I run at.

I am faster with my VM2R than my B4, but a little inconsistent. It is time to work on the shocks again, the rears feel like they are binding a touch. I've made it a point to keep the car as original as possible. One upgrade I am seriously contemplating is 12mm hex on the front end. I tested the Gambler steering knuckles already, other than hinge pin size, they are exactly the same shape and size, they wont change geometry at all.

If I get time this week, I will pull the shocks off and find the bind. I will post my full set up and pictures of how everything is put together.
Well thats good to hear. There's a fault with every car, and the shocks in a 130 dollar car can't be perfect.

So you can just use knuckles on the front to use hex rims? Thats easy enough.

Are there blank pistons available? Or do ae/kyosho pistons fit?

almost that easy...the hinge pin holes are different sized. the gambler are smaller, they need to be reamed out to fit on the buggy.

Wow shows how tired I am. I meant ae knuckles. Although, if I can stick with all atomik parts that would be cool. Do you know what size reamer it uses?

I'll measure it up tonight...I think the AE knuckles will need the same size reamer

For me, using the Gambler parts was keeping the car as much Atomik as possible.

the "V " has arrived this a.m.
it seems all the after market spares and options seem right.
matched up all that pertained.
any way the question is the steering rack, bell crank and bulkhead, these i have left to purchase needed the stock parts in hand to clarify actual dimensions (pics look very close).
i will start this after noon after i put another coat of resin on the 1941 C.C.
hydro-plane (kit).

p.s. Atomik got back to me and said to keep checking in as they were not
sure what is on its way as far as hop-ups.
have a nice time

Keep those buggies stock. Don't butcher the V2MR, just enjoy it the way the RC gods intended.

i decided to freshen up my v2mr. i had given up on it for a while due to the whole cvd issue, but in light of all these mid motor cars getting alot of attention i decided to give it another chance.

i converted it to mid motor the other day, just waiting on a new body. i'm going to give it a shot in 17.5, keep the b4 for mod. if i like it and can get it tuned i may go for a b5m when they become available along with a rm b5.

all in all i like the atomik, it perfomed well for me in the spring and early summer until i went back to the b4.

Thats what I did too, but instead I am making a vintage car out of my b4.2.

did you have difficulty getting the motor aligned correctly or trouble with wiring. I went from a tekin17.5 to a trinity d3 17.5 and it seems that the tabs are right up against the motor brace. I also find its a pain to adjust the motor screws due to the locations for the r motor braces. How do you plan to gear your 17.5? Im down to 69 / 34 I think.

need to do a bit of modding to my Aarm for the different shocks, but I hope to post everything soon.

anyone care to share their wiring and gear mesh?

i haven't wired mine up yet. i've got to pull my 17.5 out of my vintage racer and figure out how i'm going to layout the electronics. all i have atm is a shorty pack for the car so i'm going with that by default.
IIRC i was geared 75/30 when running 17.5 rear motor. the car was fast.

i'll probably work on it over the weekend, i'll post up mesh/wiring/layout after that. it will be a couple of weeks before i get it to the track again.
