Congrats!

I ordered the Losi springs and I've been looking over my old B4 for parts i could scavenge to swap to the VMR2. I should have enough AE O-rings to build my shocks.

Do you happen to have the part # for the losi rear hub carriers, or can one use the AE ones? I have a spare set of the Aluminum ones 0.0degree hubs from my B44.1/B4.2 laying around and I thought about using it.

What motor are you using and what gearing? Might make this one similar to my B4.2 and run a 8.5, but Mid configuration.

I'll try and get back to building it tonight.

You need losi 22 buggy rear hubs.

Ive ran the past couple of weeks using a Venom "Red" 17.5, geared 75/31.
I usually run a Venom 7.5 geared 83/22.

raul, your car was dialed! i enjoyed mine, got pretty consistent. seemed to be a 4th place shoe in all night until valentine swapped motors. lol

The rears will work on the front, for the rear, you would need some loooong eyelets to stretch to length. I am out of town, if not one else can, I will take a rear off and hold it up and shoot pics for ya, next to my gambler (yes, I kept one).

SO I started building the Mid- trans setup and even on the MID configuration, I still have some Spur wobble.

I was going to use the AE Pads and the AE plates, but maybe I'll see if Stock will work. I did go to a 72t spur (AE) thinking maybe there was warp in my AT/VN spur, but again i have a slight wobble. I thought others had stated they updated to AE plates, but maybe I was wrong. AE Pads maybe?

So I was using:
-AE Slipper Plate (Vented)
-AE Slipper Pad
-AE Slipper Spring/Nut / Retainer

And I get wobble. I even tried the stock Plate (trans side stock plate, Vented plate on the outer with AE Pads, and still Wobble.)

Kinda frustrating.

I did bring my B4.X to work and plan to play around with the front C hubs/axles/ etc.

I have mine in mid-motor and I am using the stock plates, spring, spring retainer, JConcepts spur and AE high torque pads and I have no wobble in the gear.

I am using a Kimbrough 69 spur (for the B4), stock Venom pads (just a touch of sanding on the edges to get them to drop in). No movement, wobble or other.

Anyone get large pinions on with the stock gear cover?

I dremeled the cover a bit and use a RR 31t.

I dremeled the snot out of mine to fit a 33-35 (my standard gearing), sorry, I used a 72, not 69 (that is on my RC10 gold pan )

So I used Stock Plates, stock spring and retainer and AE pads, and have no more wobble (FINALLY) though i was hoping to use the vented slipper.


Got to swapping some spare B4 front c hubs and knuckles and noticed one was cracked, so I'll have to get another set.


So for gearing, i too went with a Kimbrough 72T spur. debating on a simple 3500kv for starters or possibly going 10.5 or 8.5 to start. Thoughts on gearing? Heard people say that the gear cover could be a problem on mid motor setups and also will I be able to get a big enough pinion on it to make power?

My gear cover is in the box. I think you have to put that on before you install the transmission. I tried jamming it on there and gave up pretty quick.

on the gear cover, why would they mold them so tight i don't know.
mine won't fit with a 30t/75t. i just run indoors without it.
if i hit an outdoor track i'll try the dremel.

looking foward to some track time tomorrow night!
