Kit setup for me was really good, then I tried Casper's setup and the truck was better!! I had some ballcup issues but I replace them and I've had no trouble since. Good luck with your choice, I'd recommend it to anyone!!

There are quite a few set-ups on petit rc site.

Default 22T Revival

I'm reading the thread and am up to pg 140... (for anyone else reading this, the first 100 pages the truck hadn't even been released yet, so skip those!)

Anyway, managed to score the 22T Kit on AMain's Labor Day sale, got the electrics on the way (10.5T motor), and reading up whilst waiting for the delivery to come Down Under.

I'm guessing there's going to be a 22T revival with those prices and a lot more questions that have been asked before.

Can't seem to figure out - does the kit come with pinion gears and spur gears? I'd hate to have it all ready to go but unable to move without another trip to the LHS.

Thanks!

Spur, yes, an 82 tooth.
Pinion, no, you'll need to pick that up separately.

it comes with an 82 tooth spur. thats it,
they don't include a pinion because there are so many different motor choices, and all motors are a little different. so pinions are something you need to take care,
BW, I run a viper 10.5 in my 22t, I am geared 21/84 I think, I could go taller too, comes off at 130.

Thanks for the answers on the included gears! Time to pop down to the LHS to get a pinion.

Do the later kits have better ball cups then early kits? I have heard both sides of this story , some saying yes , some saying no . My kit is from late 2012

Just finished the chassis and gearbox for my 22T that I just ordered last week from A main. The diff out-drives had machined faces at the diff ring interface. From the video about the new 22 2.0 I got the impression that this was a new spec for the 2.0. Nice to see it in the 22T kit.

I built it MM, and I have to say the instructions and hardware could be laid out better. Also noticed that there are two tranny screws at the rear of the chassis plate that the instructions do not tell you to install. At least the screws are in the bag to finish the tranny install properly.

Frank root said on this thread a couple of weeks ago there are no current plans for a 22T 2.0...

P.S.- I retract my statement about an error in the instruction manual. It is correct.
