Most run 6.5-10.5 at my local track.

Monkee, how experienced a driver are you? A 4wd with a 6.5 is lightning fast and takes a skilled driver to keep it under control. If you're new to modified, start with a 10.5 at the most. It will be plenty powerful if geared correctly. Choosing a motor to clear huge 1/8 jumps will probably result in a broken car.

most of that statement was in jest..
1/8 is forgiving...
i know life is a bitch driving my 2wd 1/10 buggy. squirrely little thing...
tough to keep the front end down and the back end not sliding out.
from what im hearing tho.. ill need to stick with an 8.5 as anything lower is tough on diffs on an academy sbpro v2
