Default HPI Blitz vs. Team Associated SC10

Hey, I'm looking to buy a 2WD electric SC truck. I dont know whether to pick the HPI Blitz or the Team Associated SC10. Not looking for a Slash. Any tips or opinions speak up. Also if you have something like those for sale I'm interested.

I've owned both (techincally 3).

I've owned the SC10 RTR, SC10 FT and the Blitz (mostly ESE).

I love the durability and the suspension on the Blitz the best.
The FT SC10 had the best steering and handling.
The SC10 RTR was OKAY but I didn't like the rear suspension on it and didn't handle as well.

I'd also consider the XXX-SCT. Haven't owned one but have heard good things.

If I had to choose, I'd put the SC10 FT 1st, the Blitz second and the SC10 RTR last.

I've owned both RTR Blitz and FT SC10.

If you plan on racing check with your local shop to see parts support. If you don't mind waiting or purchase some key parts on-line you should be o.k. with either. My local shops don't carry HPI but I remedied that buy having key parts in my box.

I have sold my SC10 and stayed with my Blitz's I have 4 Blitz ESE's 1 mainly for parts, the others are my kids. Once you get it tuned and some key upgrades like steering you will love it. The feel of the SC10 is different, seems more fragile, than again the Blitz ESE feels a bit more fragile compared to the RTR, but handles great. The new Blitz ESE looks like a great deal with tires and MIP diff.

First of all I wanna say this will be my first electric rc car/truck. I've always gone nitro but now that I'm older I'm planning on getting into racing. I'm kind of leaning toward the SC10 FT now, but what all does it come with if I bought one from RC Planet if you know. btw thanks for the input.

If your thinking this one

http://www.rcplanet.com/HPI_Racing_B.../hpi103171.htm

looks like you will need a battery for the truck and receiver.

It is the older version which does not have the 2.4ghz radio system or the waterproof receiver case/cover. This is a basic starter, you would want to upgrade pretty quick to a brushless system and the steering. The new version has the orange cammo look.

If you have a Rx/Tx and lipos already I suggest getting a roller and adding your own ESC/motor and servo.

I think the FT SC10 is only sold in a kit also, not sure...

oops, I thought you were talking Blitz....

SC10
http://www.rcplanet.com/Team_Associa..._p/asc7034.htm

You will need everything on this Batteries/Rx/Tx/ Motor/ESC, Servo. I think you will need tires and wheels also, can't remember. This is comparable to the Blitz ESE kit, you will need all the above but now it comes with tires/wheels.

One is the 2 Time SCT Champion, one isn't.

To Crawler: Quoting championship shows more than just which car is better. Obviously a bad vehicle isn't going to win championships, BUT championships show which company supports it's racing program better more than which vehicle is actually better for your average driver just getting into racing.

To the OP: You could also check out the new SC10 RS if you're looking for something more RTR than the FT SC10. I can't comment on it first hand though but I'm sure it'll be a strong competitor.

The biggest recommendation is to see what your LHS sells and go with that one. Having parts support is huge in this hobby.
