Just wondering what is the best motor and esc combo out there for Shortcourse trucks, If i need to be brand specific it would be for a SC10.

Arguable at best.

The best one is the one you can afford, meets your tracks regs (if you are racing), and suits the vehicle you want to put it in for its intended purpose, as well as your driving style.

Make sure you buy a Maxamps battery pack as well. Their price, like Tekin's stuff automatically makes them the best for every application.

No but really, lowroad makes a good point. There is a lot more to take in to account than just the brands name.

Consider many things: rules of your local track, timing advance features, local hobby shop support, local brand popularity/sponsored drivers, and of course budget. For higher end systems you can't go wrong with Tekin, Novak, Speed Passion, and LRP if timing advance is not needed. On a budget Hobbywing, Castle, and even some of the Speed Passion stuff . If you buy something that is popular at your local track it will be much easier to get some help setting it up, especially for timing adjustments. Also, my local hobby shop gladly handles warranty issues for us racers if we buy the products from them.

If it were my money I would go Tekin or Speed Passion, but that's simply because that's what I have used and know very well. Also don't rule out getting a used esc as you can save yourself some money and spend it elsewhere- tires, spare parts, etc.

Tekin is arguably the best, but then again, its the Nike of the RC world. You can probably get just as good a shoe with another brand, but its not "Nike". At an amateur level of racing, I think a Mamba Max Pro will deliver just as good of performance and flexibility as the more expensive Tekins.

I tried out Novak about a month ago.....it caught on fire after 3 minutes of use so I cant really tell you much about their product!

Tekin is pretty much the king of the esc world right now, most popular practically anywhere you go. Other stuff works, but Tekin has the most support and is widespread.

I love my Trinity d3 motors, cheap (compared to the other stuff), fast as hell, they run cool, and I've given them hell and they still run like new! I love them.

Can you use the Trinity D3 with the Tekin Pro Sensored speed? I am looking to buy a 6.5 for my B44 should I get the Tekin Combo or Tekin Speed plus the 6.5 Trinity motor?

Yes , get the Trinity motor . The motor have gobs of power and run much cooler which you can gear taller than other motors . With the Trinity motor I'd get a 8.5 or even 10.5 , you can make them run at least as fast as a 6.5 . I run a 17.5 in a SCT Boost cranked , timing on motor cranked , and geared as tall as the truck will let me and still only runs at 135 degrres after 6 min heat ! Many others I know have had the same results . Everyone at my track always thinks I have a mod motor !
