I asked this at the SXX Stockspec V2 thread but it's so new, no one has replied.. Looking for the best way to shuffle my ESC's around for all 3 of my cars (B4, T4 and B44.1)
I currently have 3 vehicles with the following motor/esc setups.
A B4.1 with an SXX Competition V1 with a LRP X-12 17.5 which is pretty fast even though there is no boost available on it and no timing advance on the motor.
A T4.1 with a Tekin RS and 17.5 Redline (which is ridiculous fast when boosted but seems slow when not.
A B44.1 with no motor or ESC yet.
Here is my dilemma. I bought the Tekin RS for my truck because it was the RTR and the Reedy sensorless combo that came with it sucked ass. I was tired of waiting for the SXX Stockspec V2 so I got this combo.
Just after buying the Tekin (which is OK but I kinda hate having to hook it up to a computer to make certain tweaks) AE of course puts out the press release for the SXX SS V2.
So here is my thinking people. Tell me if u like my idea.
Pull the SXX Competition out of the B4 and throw it in the B44.1, add the heatsink to the ESC and run an LRP 8.5 Octawind mod motor in it so I can race it in 4WD Mod and Mod Buggy (at OCRC they will allow a B44.1 to run in mod buggy if you aren't a sandbagger and there aren't enough guys to run a full heat of 4WD mod buggy)
Keep the Tekin RS with the 17.5 in the truck. I can run stock or mod with this esc no problem.
Put an SXX Stockspec V2 in the B4.1 so I can run both boosted and non-boosted when I want (JBRL for example this year will have a non-boosted stock class). I assume that I could still run a mod motor with no problem with the SXX Stockspec V2. Are there any disadvantages to running a mod motor with this ESC? I know it's not a good idea to boost a mod motor (perhaps unless it is with the milder boost settings of the SXX Competition V2 and/or the SXX TC Spec V2).
Will the SXX Competition V1 be able to handle the power requirements of the B44.1?
Any insight would be helpful.
ps.. I have never owned a boostable LRP but the Tekin RS with 17.5 can go so fast it turns my T4 wheels as flat as pancakes when I gun the throttle while holding the truck off the ground and it does wheelies and flips over backwards when I tried it out on the asphalt. It's insane fast for a stock motor.

Yes, a 8.5 & the B44 will work together great with a SXX Stock ESC

I was just thinking about something...is the t4 and b4 front shock tower the same size[i know there is more bracing, and there are body post mounts on the t4]...but could you run a t4 front shock tower in a b4 buggy without any impact on handling, or is there a size difference...just wondering because the t4 front shock tower seems more braced and sturdy...any input to this idea is appreciated.

No
T-4 tower is larger than B-4

Alright thanks...just kinda thinking out loud

The 4.1 ft b4 tower ?
Plenty of extra material added for strength ...

Love it or hate it, here's my new JConcepts Punisher body for the T4 or T4.1. The first photos show it with the standard spoiler that comes with it. But, I still didn't think it looked "truggy" enough so I added the wing from an HPI body kit. Its 7" long and completes the look for me. I love this body and can't wait to get a Bulldog from Pro-line when I can.

Even though i dislike that body style...i must say it does look alot better than it originally did.

Trying to get back into this after a 3ish year break. Still have my FT B4 and posted pictures of it as it was last time I ran it here http://www.rctech.net/forum/8488528-post120.html
I have the most fun building these so have gone through the whole buggy.
B4.1 front and rear shock towers
T4 composite chassis
Tekin RS Pro w/Tekin 10.5 motor
75 spur, 24 pinion
Upgrade from DX3 to DX3S radio
B44 rear hubs
Proline B4 bulldog body still needs paint
Jconcepts molded foams front and rear
still need to shorten the battery wires a bit
Local track is Cap City RC. Hoping to get a couple more practice days before I do a Thursday night race.
Comments welcome

looks good!!
those shocks are not .1 shocks! Probably have not put them on yet. ? How much different does it drive with the t4 chassis vs b4? What body do you run on it?
