I just saw that article too and it has me hoping they FINALLY got rid of the white retaining clips. If that is true then its about #%*# time. Double cap shocks usually means a cap on both ends of the shock; bottom to load O-rings and top to load oil.

In the last 2 years I have not had any problems on any of my ae shocks. My issue it that the design itself should be conducive to a solid build, not user knowledge. Also, the flex inherent in the plastic clip is not a desirable quality.

Yeah I dunno, first time I ever built mine with zero knowledge on how they were assembled they ended up fine, Team Associated assembly manuals are the best!
The new shocks will probably end up more expensive with the extra seal housing part, I assume it's aluminium.

George has been racing rc cars longer than you have been alive. end of story, its been proven MANY TIMES that associated shocks, when maintained, have won more races than any other design.
