Just realized this is the place to post this:

Gearing suggestions for a B4? Running a Tekin RS 10.5 w/ Vegas 203.

60 x 125 or so tracks with about a 70 foot straight.

Questions?? Reedy 5000 in a B4

Has anyone had trouble fitting the Reedy 5000 LiPo pack into their B4? If so, how did you make it fit?

Kevin Jelich used 25/78 with his B4. His complete setup is on Tekin's site.

Mine fits fine no problem. I use the carbon fiber battery strap and just ground the bottom of the rear shock tower so it slips under it easier. Never heard about the Reedy 5000 pack not fitting before. It won't slide under the rear shock tower like a NIMH pack will so I just run half a foam behind it.

Thanks, all suggestions welcome. For whatever reason, I though all the losi guys were running XXXs.

What difference does the spur gear make? 78 vs. 81 vs. ???

a larger spur gear makes a higher final drive ratio, as a smaller makes a lower final drive ratio. i know i heard of something about using larger or smaller spurs, getting the same fdr, it makes a difference in torque. also a smaller spur puts the motors closer towards the rears tires, and generally makes for more rear traction.

So there is an older and an updated version of the Factory Team kit for the B4?

For the NEW stuff on the Factory Team B4, is there a way to tell whether it has the new or old stuff by looking at the box in the shop?

Are the shocks a specific color on the new one? what is the motor guard? just wraps around the motor? is the sc10 plastic better?

from an older thread:
shock bodies
bulkhead - sc10 plastic
top plate - sc10 plastic
beefier steering blocks - sc10 plastic
steering rack - sc10 plastic
wing mounts, beefed up - sc10 plastic
rear chassis plate - sc10 plastic
rear hubs - sc10 plastic
motor gaurd - sc10 type

That's it I think[/QUOTE]

I was just going to ask about this. If you use different combinations of spur to pinion to come up with the same fdr are you guys saying it makes a difference in performace even with the same fdr?
