Hey buddy, try 24/78 works well. Is also the same as on some of the AE set-up sheets with 8.5.

Now that the car is close and has a little understeer I think I'll try the cut black springs in the rear.

We'll see how it works.

I also put a 25/78 in it and the car is much more driveable with the 10.5.

I'm at 81/23 with a Novak 10.5/sintered rotor, but that's a race truck with a 7.2v lipo. As far as the stock 87 spur, the biggest pinion you can fit is a 25. If you're thermaling, you're not undergeared, your probably way over geared. I'd keep the same spur and just start going down 1 tooth on the pinion until it stops thermaling. Once you get it in the right ballpark the motor will feel alot better too.

if lengths match up with some or no modification its not a terrible idea. im not sure is springs fit between vehicles or not which would be something else needed to sort out. i need new shock bodies for both vehicles and i need to try the new rebuild kits.

this is an oldy but goody argument. not to start anything but associated does need to update shocks that are 20 years old. i like them but a change is nice. it brings in money for them anyway.

dont start any more shock argument, ae has released new shock bodies and rebuild kits for the new and the old kits.

The set i try`ed had kyosho orange springs ,not shure about pistons. They fit perfect ,I had to unscrew the fronts two turns to get my droop the same.A softer spring in the rear would have been better. They worked very well, and no leaking lol.

I'm not trying to start anything but they released new stuff. Shocker to me. Please put link so we can see unless you are talking about the threaded factory team ones that are still the same design.
