and the guys at OCRC are so lucky... Root, Cav, Jarosz, Hartson, Casper all frequent the track and make the locals fast and frustration free.

Wild Cherry, how far are you from the Bremerton area? I used to live in bremerton and currently have a buddy that is on a sub out to see that I will be visiting up there when he gets back from deployment. I really want to bring up the B4 and wonder whats up there track wise.

Bremerton is less than a hour away from Trcr in Tacoma....

We have Brown , Bridgewater, & Joe Pillar....

You should make plans for a club race ....

Oh ya, I forgot that Pillars just moved up that way.

Still waiten for my friend to hit me up, hes on the SSBN subs and well, they dont get to communicate with the rest of the world until they are back on US soil. Its a plan to go up there, but not sure when. Ill move this to the TRCR forum, instead of clogging this one up.

I used to race for TeamLosi, back when the field was about evenly split here, 50/50, maybe 55/45 favoring AE at the time...but once Horizon took over, it became clear that they weren't as interested in hardcore racing as Pops and Jr. are/where. Little by little the support dwindled and I started feeling like I was in the way when I raced with "the team".
I switched to AE, also since so many AE team drivers here were able to help me race their brand for some paint, plus I was at JConcepts then and they are hardcore AE, .

Now, when we race electric, there are a couple TL cars or trucks a few Kyoshos and 80+ AE cars.
They do OK in gas though, which is a little better then electric, with about 10-12 guys racing TL gas stuff at events with 150 entries.

There is basically no support in this area for TL and it shows at the track.

I didn't notice a change in results, but the A/E cars do seem a little easier to handle on low traction tracks, I still think the TL cars were better on high bite...nothing that some tuning couldn't fix for either. Still seems to come down to the driving.
Plus a broken part can be found for AE cars, none for TL, not even in local hobby shops.

haha! nice to see mark gormley getting around. associated is the only way to go. who wants to buy a xxx-t? good day at the track today running for the first time. the lightweight setup was pretty nice, im not sure if it's me, but it seemed like it was missing a little bit of steering through the corners. what are some of you doing to increase steering?

Initially my car felt the same way and after trying 5 different front/rear tire combos I changed to 1 washer on the front link, none in the rear (on the bulkhead) and add one to the hub (RE .5+ toe hubs), 0 degree anti squat, limited the front shocks 1 washer more and settled on pink Hot Bodies BK rears, pink Hot Bodies Taper fronts. My car weighs alittle more than the setup calls for .... 1600ish grams depending on tires.

What's a good lipo for stock/17.5 class? I'm new to lipo and I need help in choosing a lipo. I put in a reedy 5000 35c saddle pack from a b44 but it didn't fit. Most mains are 5-7mins long, do I need a 5000 or will a lower one will work?

A 4000 mah pack would be more than enough for a 10 minute main. A good 3200mah pack should make the 5-7 minutes easily. I run 4000mah 15c pack in my T4 (I run a brushed less efficient motor), and can go 12-15 minutes with no worries.

for stock, definently get the reedy 5000 35c stick pack because that is the best battery hands down for 17.5 stock. ive compared it to almost any battery and it makes your motor scream. if you dont want to buy a expensive battery, then you can get the tekin rs. it has turbo, and turbo boost that will make any 17.5 haul ass down the straight away, it is like having second gear.
