Does the Airtronics servo works well with Futaba 4pk ratio and receiver?

Also, I just looked up Airtronics 94358/9 or 361 on Tower Hobbies and all 3 of them are marked as discontinued. Is that true?
The 9435x series has been replaced by newer flavors of them. I run a 94360 for steering in my 1/8 buggy with no problems at all. It centers well, holds well and is as smooth as any digital that i've used. It's something 130 or 140 oz torque (not sure) and .07 speed at 6v. The other servos i have been using are the AE DS1015's which are 200 oz torque and .10 at 6v.

I'm not sure about the newer 2.4ghz radios but when the 3pk was PCM/FM there were transmitting speed benefits that could only be taken advantage of with digital servos.

A great servo for the money is Hitec 6975HB. This is a digital w/120oz and very fast speed and karbonite gears instead of metal. It may have a new name/number now but it's a really high performance servo for a low price.

You need at least a 180mm length wire.

The Co27 is I think the best rebuildable motor around. It last long and the powerband is excellent. It is also, by far the highest geared brushed motor I have. I gear mine at 78/24 and it doesnt get hot.

I ran the lightweight setup on a REALLY rough track this weekend, and can report that there is still a lot of work to go. Even with battery forwards I really struggled to keep the front end on the ground over bumps. I think we are either going to need to add some weight to the front and/or work on the front shock/spring setup.

I switched to 30/#1 in the rear with green springs and it was better than 25/#2. I started with black springs but it let the rear bottom too much over the bigger holes.

There was an Rb5 there and it was much better than the B4s through the bumps (and was still running minimum weight).

Will try and get back there for some testing in the next few weeks.

Or see here:

Any more questions on the 4wd, ask them in the B44 thread - dont want to take the B4 thread too far off topic.

Question for all: Who has run the latest B4 lightweight setups on rough / slippery tracks? Ill be running one this weekend and thinking that in addition to black springs on the rear, I might try 30wt/#1 piston instead of 25/#2 to take a bit of pack out of the rear end. Will let you know how it goes.

I totally agree, i am ruuning a lightweight setup also, and w/ alot of motor that frt end is very light. May try going to older setup. I dont seem to have the steering I used to have-kinda pushy

So just to confirm is that the trinity monster pro stock co27?

Or should i just bite the bullet and buy a novak 17.5 brushless setup? they have a pretty good price right now and tower plus there is the $60 discount.

If i was to go the brushless way, is novak a good way to go?

Well, i finally got to drive a B4 in the dirt. All I can say is...WOW. Tons of steering but still very balanced. Never really had to worry about the rear stepping out on me. Started out with 22 sec lap times. messed with tires a bit. Bit the bullet and ground down my new taper pins into slicks. Really hated to do it but, it was worth it. After the tires were figured out I got to tweak the setup a touch. About mid day I had noticed I was running with the 4wd guys. A couple of tweaks more and started to beat them!! Ok maybe Im just fast or they were slow. I let a buddy try my car and he was spanking the 4wd guys also. Pretty cool !!

The last couple of packs of the day the car was really dialed.Got the times down to fairly consistent mid 18 secs. Soo.....in goes the 6.5. Now for anybody that has not run a mod brushless, these things are silky smooth with GOOBS of tork and power. Just sickening the power they have. Well, would you believe by the end of the day I was burring the trigger just about everywhere? I mean this thing was stuck !! The only bad I could do was get off the line. Other than that, I could drive any way I wanted and it would take it in stride. Ofcourse it was the end of the day and they had turned the computer off soo I didnt get any lap times with the 6.5. Really think it was down in the 17's on a couple of laps but, no proof.

This is the setup I was using.

Question.....I have seen almost all the setup sheets list 1.5oz in the back. Were are you guys putting it? I have it on the chassis right now but heard that most put it by the trans? Were and how?

Here's how to do the weight in the rear end. This only gives you 1 oz, the other 1/2 oz goes in the rear corners of the chassis, 1/4oz on each side.
