The 5700 is more like a 5.5 gear it 87/22 run good batts and punch it. The c rating on the lipo makes a huge difference in the performance of the 5700 its a battery monster

Ok that's cool, cuz I race on a short technical AND one about your size track, so I'll pick up a 17t and a 22t.

You can't just go by KV. The castle motors (and most slotless sensorless motors for that matter) use much larger rotors than novak/lrp/trinity motors and thus produce more torque for the same KV rating. Most agree that the 5700 is close to a 6.5 or 5.5 sensored motor (or an 8 turn if you are still comparing to brushed)

I forgot my pinion size, will check in a bit. My Spur is an 87 though. I believe it's something like 18/87, but I will have to confirm.

I swapped trucks with a guy at my local track last night. I have a T4 w/a CC 5700kV in it, and he's got the equivalent Novak. Immediately you could tell the CC gear was so much more punchy, meaning it had heaps more torque. My T4 could wheelie down the back straight if you could keep the wheels pointed forward. The Novak really lacked punch, but it had much more driveability. So I guess if you have a smooth throttle finger there's really no limit to how fast you can go around a track with a CC 5700kV.
